About Hotel Blogs

About · Since 2005

The trade title for hoteliers who read.

Hotel Blogs is the independent hospitality-industry magazine for hoteliers, revenue managers, marketing directors, and hospitality-technology buyers. Five editorial pillars (hotel marketing, revenue management, guest experience, hospitality technology, industry news) plus a Wirecutter-shape review vertical covering PMS, channel managers, booking engines, RMS, CRM, and review-management vendors. Twenty years on the domain.

History

The masthead started in 2005 as Hotel Blogs by Guillaume Thevenot on TypePad, one of the earliest hospitality-industry independent voices. It went dormant in 2012. In 2026, under a new named editor and a small contributor team, the site returned as a full editorial magazine.

Independence

Reviews are rubric-scored and refreshed every six months. Affiliate relationships are disclosed in-page. Our methodology is published in full at /reviews/methodology/. Sponsored content lives on a separate URL segment and never appears inside /reviews/. Editorial ranking is set by our public rubric; commissions do not change it. Corrections are logged publicly at /about/corrections/ within 48 hours of a factual dispute.

Sister brands (disclosed)

Hotel Blogs is a sister brand to Marketing The Change (a non-hospitality SMB agency) and Hotel Website Designers (a hospitality-only web design shop). Editorial coverage on Hotel Blogs is independent of both. Hotel Website Designers may be mentioned inside marketing-pillar articles when the beat calls for a hospitality-web-design case study, with explicit disclosure. Neither sister brand ever appears in our review vertical. Marketing The Change does not appear on Hotel Blogs at all.
